Nathan M. Brandenburg is a business attorney at Skjold ▪ Barthel, P.A. Nate represents clients as an external general counsel in all phases of their corporate life, including matters such as incorporation and organization, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, asset protection, non-competition agreements, contract drafting, commercial collections and the resolution of any disputes that may arise along the way.
As an architecture major in college and as an intern at a Twin Cities architectural firm, Nate became extremely interested in the relationships between architects, contractors, developers, ownership and management firms, and their respective clients. As a result, Nate strives to provide legal representation for such persons that is specifically tailored to their needs by someone with experience working in the design and construction fields. Also, as the son and husband of two members of the health care profession, Nate is very interested in representing such professionals in the matters that are a major part of any successful health care professional’s practice.
Nate received a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 with majors in architecture and political science from Washington University in St. Louis. During his time at Wash U, Nate was a member of the Men’s Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field teams and was a member of the Washington University Student Government. Nate is currently a member of the Washington University in St. Louis Alumni & Parents Admissions Program.
Nate received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2006. While at Iowa, Nate served as a student writer and as Executive Editor of the Iowa Law Review. His Note, Preachers, Politicians, and Same-Sex Couples, was published in Volume 91 of the Review.
Nate’s previous experience includes working as an intern at SALA Architects, Inc., from 2000 until 2003 and as an extern for the Honorable John A. Jarvey, Chief Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa in 2005.
Nate is licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota and before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce and Minneapolis Rotary Club Number 9.
